About Me & The List

Back in January of 2008, I started a 101 in 1001 list.  The project end date is October 20, 2010, which happens to be my 30th birthday (eep!).  Since that time of creating my first ‘life list’, my life has dramatically changed, and many of the items on my list are now irrelevant.  I knew I needed a change, and needed focus in my life, but didn’t have that extra push to do it.  Until… I recently watched the infamous movie, The Bucket List, which encouraged me, like so many others, to create a bucket list (or in my case, a significant overhaul and revision of my own major ‘to-do’ list for life).

A Bucket List is a list of all the things you wish to accomplish or do before you die.  Simple as that.  There are many different things that I have seen on people’s bucket lists.  A quick Google search reveals many websites with tips, examples, and communities on how to create and live through your own bucket list.  There doesn’t need to be another how-to website to saturate an already successful market, so I’m keeping this site about me and my own experiences with my bucket list.  It is a ‘personal’ blog after all!  😉  I hope to encourage some of you to create your own lists, and would love for you share them with me if you do.

Informally, my ‘deadline’ for most accomplishments on this list is December 21, 2012.  Oh yes, the end of the Mayan Calendar.  Why not?  lol  I work better with deadlines, and since none of us know when our final day will be, it’s good to not think I have 50 years to do everything.  I also began this blog originally on June 26th, 2010, which was 909 days before my ‘deadline’, and 9 happens to be my favourite number, thus I figured it was fate.  HAH.  There’s no such thing as coincidence!

As for me personally, I am a 20-something woman from Canada, who now lives in southern California.  I have an amazing husband, wonderful parents and in-laws, an awesome brother and sister-in-law, and a beautiful niece and nephew.  I have not lived my life to the fullest, and hope this bucket list can inspire myself and others to do so.

This is My List.
